How to Boost Your Results at The Bar Method
November 12, 2019
If you’ve found yourself here, you likely know some of the main benefits you can expect from The Bar Method classes: lean muscles, increased flexibility, better posture, greater body awareness (just to name a few). In addition to staying consistent with your exercise routine and taking class 3-5 times a week, what else can you do to boost these benefits? We believe that small changes can have a big impact, just like the small movements you see in our signature technique! Keep reading for a few small changes you can make to boost your results at The Bar Method.
Try a New Class Format
At The Bar Method, most studios offer 4 class formats, each with its own unique benefits. In Bar Method class, you will follow our classic interval format of strength followed by stretch, resulting in long, lean muscles. Experience a strength training workout in our Bar Advanced classes, which will result in a deeper mind-body connection. If you’re looking for a cardio boost, then sign up for a Bar Move class. In Bar Restore, you will push yourself in barre work for 30 minutes, followed by a deep stretch to increase flexibility and relax the mind. Challenge yourself to try a new class offering to truly feel the unique benefits of each class!
Raise Your Hand
Our Bar Method Instructors are expert, educated, magical unicorns! Every Bar Method Instructor goes through over 6 months of training, focusing on body anatomy, exercise safety, and more! Use our Instructors as a tool to get the results you are looking for! Do you have questions on a specific exercise? Pull your Instructor aside after class and share your question. Nothing makes our Teachers happier than seeing their students succeed, so don’t be shy & start to feed off their knowledge as much as you can.
There is a stigma in the fitness industry that you need to do more to get results- more workouts, more cardio, more dieting. Let us tell you, this is not the case. In order to achieve results, you must let your body rest & recover. Listen to your body and give it the rest and recovery it needs. Think about what changes you can make to get adequate sleep the night before you take class. Simple changes such as unplugging from your phone 30 minutes early, starting your family’s winding down routine earlier, or having a cup of chamomile tea before bed can make a big impact on your sleep.
Take the Challenge
Ask any seasoned client who has been with us for 5+ years and they will all agree on one thing…The Bar Method never gets easier. In our studio room, there is no such thing as perfection. We are constantly challenged in our path to mastery, especially when our instructors provide us with a challenge in class. Just when you think you can’t get through one more “little up and little down” your instructor challenges your mind and body to raise your arm in diamond thigh. Taking these challenges will not only strengthen your mind and body, but boost all of the results you are seeking during your time with us.
