A barre + Pilates fusion class with full-body benefits

The Benefits of Bar Method Pilates
Barre or Pilates — how about both? That’s the essence of this innovative class offering, integrating our Method’s foundational pillars with sliders and our power band system. Together, these tools deliver the same resistance and control of the reformer for a powerful full-body workout.
Because Bar Pilates draws elements from our signature Method and Pilates, the benefits offer the best of both worlds — think: deeper alignment, a stronger core, and so much more.
Each class enhances:
● Posture awareness
● Core strength
● Mobility
● Balance
● Mind-body connection
What to Expect During a Barre Method Pilates Class
Every Bar Pilates class emphasizes core muscles, breath, mobility, and stability with
three abdominal series. Meanwhile, supporting Bar Method exercises target arms,
thighs, and the seat for even deeper engagement.
This plays out by gradually building energy in order to safely and powerfully move
through challenging exercises as class progresses.
Here’s how it works:
- Get your heart pumping with a quick warm-up at the barre.
- Complete a mix of simple and complex cardio movements to pump up your heart rate, build endurance, and improve coordination with brief moments of gentle movement woven in.
- Then, cool down with a series of mindful stretches.

Pilates lengthens and stretches muscles while strengthening them. Translation: This increases range of motion in the joints and can prevent stiffness and injury.

Deep concentration on movements and muscle engagement are required during Pilates. This supports the mind-body connection and can improve cognitive functions like memory and attention span.

Pilates deeply targets the abdominal, lower back, hips, and pelvic floor muscles (the body’s "powerhouse") to build a strong, stable center. This is foundational for all
movement.
