new clients welcome

New to barre? We have you covered! We’ll make sure you have everything you need for your first class, and beyond. Get ready to transform your body and tap into a new level of inner and outer strength.

How to

Arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class to get set up & ready to enjoy your workout

Wear socks that cover the whole foot, preferably grip socks. They are available for purchase at your studio.

Wear pants that fall below the knee and allow for maximum flexibility during class.

Comfortable Top

Wear a breathable top that covers your midriff and allows you to move freely during class.

Share injuries, pregnancy or any special circumstances with your instructor prior to class.

No Experience

We welcome students of any experience level. Everyone and every body type is welcome — women, men, all ages, expecting mothers, we adjust the workout so it’s suitable for everyone. You don’t have to be a dancer or have prior barre experience. The studio staff and our supportive community will make you feel welcome. Instructors will provide guidance and inspiration throughout class, so you’ll learn the exercises and technique as well as how to power through challenging moments and pre-conceived notions of limitation. You’ll feel the shake and the burn, but it will be worth it! If you are pregnant please consult with your doctor prior to taking class.

The Class

Every Bar Method class starts with a warm-up, upper-body exercises and pushups in the middle of the room, followed by a sequence of leg work at the barre and core exercises on the floor. The method predominantly uses your own bodyweight as resistance along with a few basic props – free weights, mats and a ball. Students are continually challenged with endless variations of each exercise timed to the beat of the music, so that each class feels unique. Students of all levels work within their individual limits while receiving encouragement to continually push forward.

What Makes Us

The Bar Method is unique to other barre classes for one reason, it is truly a method. It was created under the guidance of physical therapists to ensure it is safe and effective for students spanning a wide range of abilities including those with physical limitations and injuries. Unlike other barre workouts, our instructors undergo a lengthy rigorous training that includes lessons of anatomy and hands-on adjustments. Annual certification exams ensure the highest standards are upheld across the entire teaching community. Our students receive personalized adjustments, modifications and encouragement to get the most out of every workout. It’s a workout that is safe and sustainable for life!

What to Expect

After your first class, be sure to drink plenty of water so your muscles stay hydrated as they recover. You may be sore but stick with it as your body adjusts and gets stronger. Book your next class! Barre takes several classes to get the hang of, so be patient and give yourself time to learn the exercises and technique. We recommend taking class 3-5 times per week to get the best results. Our instructors are here to help you get the most out of each class so be sure to talk with them before or after class if you have any questions.
