About the STUDIO

The Bar Method Chicago - Wicker Park is a boutique fitness studio offering barre classes for students of all levels. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Not only does it reshape your entire body, but it allows you to channel your inner strength and leave class feeling strong, confident and poised. Highly-trained instructors customize the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective for any age and every body, including modifications for pregnant women and students with injuries. Our staff and community are here to support you from the moment you walk through the door.

We are located in the heart of Wicker Park at Ashland-Division-Milwaukee. We have free parking in the lot behind the studio, shared with Lowe's, as well as metered street parking on Milwaukee.

About the
Owners

Lis Settimi teaches in four Chicago-area Bar Method studios and leads studio operations and marketing for The Bar Method Chicago. She received her B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University and her M.B.A from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Lis spent her time cycling or running before discovering The Bar Method. She has always wanted her work to empower women and is thrilled to have helped bring the Bar Method to Chicago in 2008.

"Catherine James teaches in four Chicago-area Bar Method studios and leads all teacher training and development for The Bar Method Chicago. She has her B.S. from Vanderbilt University and her M.S.W. from Tulane University. Catherine has always been an athlete and avid exerciser. She often says that it was only The Bar Method that could break her of her habit of running 8 miles a day. Catherine is thrilled to have helped bring The Bar Method to Chicago in 2008 and is thankful for the thriving Bar
