What to Expect From a Bar Strength Workout


Every Bar Method studio offers Bar Strength classes in 60-minute and 45-minute lengths, so you can create a customized barre experience fit for your schedule and fitness goals. (Some studios also offer 15-minute Bar Strength sessions at the end of some classes.)

  • Builds on the muscle-building elements of our signature Bar Method class — and turns the dial up a notch.
  • Combines two circuits of repeating exercises with complementing stretches in between.

Yes — every Bar Method exercise calls on multiple muscle groups and each class is structured to keep your muscles challenged throughout. The results: faster muscle growth and improved overall fitness.
Attend the number of Bar Strength classes that feels best for you. We recommend starting with two to three workouts per week until you’re ready to do more frequent training.
When you regularly do barre strength workouts, you should begin to notice visible transformation in just a few weeks (but you’ll begin to feel stronger even sooner).
Nope! Everyone is welcome in every Bar Method class. Our instructors give step-by-step guidance through every workout. No ballet experience is necessary — but ballet dancers will feel right at home at the barre.
