Together we inspire: A glimpse into studio ownership
The holidays are a time for reflection, gratitude and optimism. It’s typically the time of year when we look back on all that has happened in our life over the past 12 months, what progress we’ve made toward our goals, the impact we’ve had on others and the experiences we hope to have in the future. Perhaps this is what being in “the holiday spirit” is all about!
Because The Bar Method studios are our sanctuary, the place we trust with our fears, friendships and fatigue…we wanted to find out from this elite group of women (and some men), who made the decision to open studios and become leaders in their communities, what makes them tick. We asked some of our studio owners to reflect back on why they chose to open a Bar Method studio, what they love most about being an owner, and how it’s made an impact on their lives and those around them?
Here’s what they had to say…
1. Building a Meaningful Community
“The best part about owning a studio is the relationships I have built with my staff, and clients. We are a part of changing the lives of so many women. I am proud of all that I have taught myself, built within our community and feel empowered. I have proven to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to doing with commitment, hard-work and love, and am truly proud. Even better is seeing the pride in my husband and children for what I have accomplished.”
– Karen Moreno, Studio Owner (Orlando-Winter Park)
“Being a studio owner has changed my life in so many ways. It’s shown me that this workout is more than just exercise– it’s a community. Our clients have truly become our family members. It’s an incredible thing to see.”
– Bridget McBride, Studio Co-Owner (Fairfield)
2. Empowering Women (and Men) to Be Their Best
“Owning a studio is fulfilling on so many levels. I love that we are helping women (predominately) get stronger physically and mentally. We have such an incredible, committed and supportive client base which makes it really fun to come to work each day.”
– Melissa Ramsey, Studio Co-Owner (Bernardsville)
3. Become an Entrepreneur
“I loved Bar Method and wanted a chance to run my own business. I thought it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Running a business truly for myself and being my own boss really wasn’t something I expected to have in my lifetime, and now that I have it it’s hard to imagine my life any other way. “
“I opened a studio because I had a deep passion and love for the exercise and frankly I had moved to a city where there was not a barre workout, let alone Bar Method! I was selfish I guess! I wanted to take class.”
– Jennifer Kasparian, Studio Owner (Fresno)
In the spirit of the holidays (and everyday for that matter), we would like to thank our remarkable group of studio owners whose collective drive, talent, leadership, and passion for the brand inspire one another across the company and within their local communities every day.
